NOCTURN SPORT

Nocturn Sport: a sportsbook that builds its own odds

Sports betting odds made by our own models, not copied from the market — on football, basketball, tennis, esports and more.

Updated October 4, 2026

Nocturn Sport is an online sportsbook whose betting odds are calculated in-house. Every price you see at nocturnsport.com comes out of our own rating models: we do not copy another bookmaker's lines and we do not buy prices from an outside odds supplier. This site, nocturnsports.com, explains how those odds are made, which sports and markets we price, and how to read a betting line before you put money on it.

What makes our sports betting odds different

Most bookmakers watch each other and move together. We start from the sport itself. Each team or player gets a rating learnt from past results, and those ratings are turned into probabilities, then into odds:

  • Football, ice hockey and baseball run on a goals model. Attack and defence strengths give each side an expected number of goals (or runs), which feeds a Poisson distribution — with a Dixon-Coles style correction for low scores like 0-0 and 1-1 in football, and a wider negative binomial spread for baseball runs.
  • Basketball, American football and rugby use a points model: an expected margin and an expected total, both treated as normal distributions, plus each league's home advantage.
  • Tennis, MMA and League of Legends use Elo ratings. Elo gives the chance of winning one game or map, and we build the whole series from there — Bo1, Bo3 or Bo5.

We test these models honestly, on games they never saw while learning. Our football ratings were built from 10,783 past matches and then checked against 1,973 later ones; for basketball, 8,665 matches went in and 1,712 fresh ones were used to check. In both cases the model did better than a naive base-rate forecast (figures measured on past matches). The full story is in how we price odds.

How betting at Nocturn Sport works

Head to the sportsbook, pick a fixture and click a price to add it to your bet slip. You can place a single, or combine selections into an accumulator of up to 10 legs, with one selection per event. Live scores are shown on the site so you can follow your matches.

A quick example: back a home win at 2.10 and an over 2.5 goals at 1.85 in another match. As a double, the odds multiply to 3.89, so a £10 stake returns £38.85 if both land — and nothing if either fails. Our accumulator guide covers this in detail.

Two things to know. We are pre-match only for now: in-play odds are in development, so betting closes 1 minute before the start of each event. And odds sit between a minimum and a maximum price set for the book, which stops absurd lines at either end.

Why in-house odds matter to a bettor

When a price is copied, you are really betting against the market consensus. When it is modelled, you can see the reasoning: a 2.40 price means our model rates that outcome at a little under 41.7 % before margin, and you can disagree with it on team news, motivation or weather. The margin itself is applied proportionally to every outcome of a market, so no single selection is squeezed harder than the rest. If you are new to reading prices, start with odds formats and betting markets explained.

Frequently asked questions

What is Nocturn Sport?

Nocturn Sport is a sportsbook at nocturnsport.com whose odds are calculated by our own models — Elo ratings, Poisson goals models and normal points distributions — rather than copied from other bookmakers.

Can I bet in-play on Nocturn Sport?

Not yet. The book is pre-match for now and markets close 1 minute before kick-off or the first serve. In-play odds are being developed; live scores are already shown.

How many selections can I put in an accumulator?

Up to 10, with one selection per event. You can also place each pick as a single.

Where do the odds come from?

From us. Ratings built on past results produce probabilities, and a margin is spread proportionally across each market. No third-party odds feed is used.

Is Nocturn Sport only for players?

No. Operators can integrate the same sportsbook through an API or as a white-label site; the operators page explains the options.
